More From Bird Lore

Koreke Bowls 220 x 190 x 130 and 130 x 230 x 130

Waka Huia 100 x 430 x 1200

Some new work from the Bird Lore exhibition. The Koreke are based on the New Zealand native Quail which became extinct in the mid to late 1800s. The last specimens know to have been taken were those formerly in Buller’s collection obtained in Blueskin Bay in 1867 or 1868. The Waka Huia references the traditional maori form of treasure container.
